A little fussy, but just what I wanted, March 26, 2012 This review is from: Orei DVD-Z1H 1080p HDMI Multi Zone Region Free DVD Player - USB Input - Dual Voltage for Worldwide Use - AVI/JPEG/MP3/MPEG4 Playback (Free HDMI Cable) (Electronics) This player is exactly what I wanted -- region-free, HDMI with upscaling, plays USB. The only thing that keeps it from getting a 5-star review is that it's a little cranky about a few things. The USB slot doesn't always recognize the USB drive the first time, and I sometimes have to reseat it a couple of times. The remote needs to be pointed below the player for the player to recognize it, which is a bit of a learning curve. At one point, I hit the wrong button and lost the HDMI display entirely and had to switch to composite video. Thankfully, the documentation had the information on how to fix the problem.
All in all, a great value for the money, even though it's not perfect.

I have a SanDisk 2gb flash drive that I put an .avi file on and the player will not recognize it. When I hit the usb button on the remote, all I get is a circle with a line through it displayed on the tv. I've played the file fine on my computer when I plug it into my laptop, so I know the file is fine. I also burned the same .avi to a disc and that played fine in the player, too. I guess for the price of this player, I shouldn't be too surprised. I am very happy it plays the avi discs, I just wish the USB feature worked. I also wish it played .mp4 files, which I thought it was supposed to but doesn't. I also wish the remote was a little more responsive. You have the mash the button really hard several times to get it to respond. Not sure if I'd recommend this, there's got to be a better player out there, one that does... Read more

I was unsure of the reliabilty before I bought them becuae of not buying a big name brand, but after watching movies being played on both I am very happy. The colors were very clear, (love that they came with the HDMI cords), and my movies dont skip. It does everything that I want it to do without any hesitation. I burn lots of movies for my family and now we can share.
